SEE Holding and Aramco sign MoU to develop a Net-Zero Emissions Roadmap for SMEs

  • The partnership was announced as part of the launching ceremony of the “Taleed” program to accelerate SMEs in KSA

SEE Holding, the mastermind behind numerous sustainability related companies and brands including Diamond Developers, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia’s Aramco, outlining pathways for strategic cooperation to support SMEs.

The MoU aims to help SMEs achieve carbon neutrality by providing a Net-Zero Emissions Roadmap compliant with SEE Holding’s sustainability rating system. SEE Holding developed this rating system to provide a unique and fully integrated methodology to avoid, reduce, and offset all man-made emissions, enabling companies, projects, and individuals to achieve net zero.

As a part of the memorandum, the two sides will work to support the Kingdom’s small and medium enterprises sector through the business incubator operated by ’SEE Institute, Bedayat,  one of the initiatives functioning under the holding company. The incubator will support innovation and facilitate the growth and prosperity of these companies in the local and international markets through Aramco’s & SEE Holding’s extensive global network.

Speaking about the new partnership, Faris Saeed, Chairman, and CEO of SEE Holding, said: “We are committed to dedicating our resources and harnessing our know-how toward developing a collaborative Net-Zero Emissions Roadmap for SMEs, and we look forward to a long-standing relationship with Saudi Aramco in key areas of mutual benefit within the Kingdom, UAE, and the region. We truly believe that the rating system developed by SEE Holding will revolutionize and enable not only SME’s but also larger global entities in the public and private sector. Climate change is a global challenge, it requires global solidarity and action”

Laying the foundation for a strong cooperative relationship, the agreement will also ensure the sharing of information, human capital development, training, research and relevant know-how through SEE Holding’s educational subsidiary, SEE Institute, on projects & companies operating under Aramco. This partnership reaffirms SEE Holding’s commitment to spearheading the way toward a net zero emissions future through sustainable solutions.

The new partnership was announced as part of the launching ceremony of the “Taleed” program to accelerate the growth of small and medium enterprises in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a capital exceeding 3 billion riyals ($798 million).
